Our school delivery programme in Peru has been honoured with two awards at the 2025 NEC Martin Barnes Awards.

Esculeas Bicentenario has won Client of the Year, an honour that recognises organisations for outstanding leadership, vision, and role in driving meaningful change within their industries. The second award, Professional Services of the Year, was awarded to Gleeds and Mace, for our role in delivering the programme – recognising teams that ‘set the standard for excellence’ in professional services.

The Bicentennial School programme exemplifies these qualities through its scale, ambition and impact. Designed to address educational inequality, it will deliver 75 new schools for over 118,000 students across Peru. The initiative is notable for its pace and innovation, with construction progressing up to five times faster than the national average for similar programmes. Furthermore, it marks a significant step forward in procurement best practice for the Peruvian public sector, by introducing the NEC4 contract and two-stage tendering process for the first time in Peru.

Working alongside joint venture partner Mace, Gleeds is proud to support this transformative programme by providing project management and consultancy services.

These awards are a testament to the passion and dedication of our incredible team and visionary client. Together, we’re not only transforming how we deliver infrastructure but also helping to build a more sustainable and inclusive future for Peru.
