Gleeds has been involved with the Beorma Quarter scheme since the completion of phase one in 2015.
Since construction works began on phase two in August 2023, we have been providing project management, cost management and health and safety advisory services on behalf of Kuwaiti developer Salhia.
Located opposite Selfridges and the landmark Bullring shopping centre, the 29-storey Beorma Tower dominates the southern gateway to Birmingham’s Digbeth district. Once complete, it will offer 152,000sq.ft. of commercial office space, as well as 124 luxury residential apartments, retail and leisure facilities set around a central courtyard.
Appointed as Salhia’s lead consultant in the capacity of Project Manager, Gleeds is also providing Employer’s Agent services for the construction phase of works. Our team helped drive the scheme through the design stages, building strong relationships with the project’s key stakeholders which were essential in securing positive outcomes.
Our Birmingham office are also delivering cost management services and ad-hoc building surveying while our Nottingham team continue to provide CDM advice throughout the construction programme.
Part of our role included tendering and procuring a main contractor. Bringing our knowledge of the market to bear, we also led a formal benchmarking exercise to establish a fair and equitable contract value.
Commenting on the development’s progress, Salhia’s Chief Executive, Abdulaziz Alnafisi, described how Beorma Tower will pave the way for further development in the area. Its location will provide a welcome boost to the local economy.
Beorma Tower will be an all-electric development, moving away from fossil fuels will contribute towards Net Zero targets.
