Mark Griffin is a Project Director and Regional Manager for South America at Gleeds, where he leads operations across the region; overseeing a team of over 60 professionals delivering large-scale infrastructure programmes in health, education and flood defence. This involves driving commercial performance, fostering high-performing teams, and supporting the continued growth of Gleeds’ presence in the region.
Alongside his regional leadership responsibilities, Mark leads the Bicentennial Schools programme, overseeing the delivery of over 75 schools nationwide in Peru. This includes close coordination with the client and joint venture partners, as well as leading a multidisciplinary Gleeds team of cost managers, contract specialists, digital leads and project support staff.
Mark is motivated by seeing the completed schools in use and hearing directly from students, teachers and parents about the impact the facilities have on their lives and education. For him, these moments provide a strong sense of purpose and a reminder of the lasting value created through the team’s hard work.
Mark’s decision to move to Peru was initially for family reasons, but he was drawn to Gleeds for its reputation as a leading consultancy in quantity surveying and project management. He identifies most with Gleeds' value of ‘Excellence with humility’ as it reflects his belief in delivering services to the highest standards.
My advice for the newcomers is to make the most of the network of experienced professionals who can provide friendly advice.
