Digital twin
With Digital Twin, we create digital replicas of our clients’ built assets, enabling them to be managed more sustainably and efficiently. Visibility of the entire estate - from anywhere in the world, at any time - eliminates the bottlenecks, data defects, wasted resource and inconsistencies that impair decision-making.
Traditional asset management involves frequent building visits.
This leads to higher travel expenses and carbon emissions, poor data collection, and lost time.
Gleeds’ Digital Twin service digitalises the process – creating a simple visual way of working that improves accuracy and decision-making to maximise efficiency.
Our Twin service
Our Twin service scans each of the client’s buildings using the latest LiDAR (light detection and ranging) technology to capture asset data, which we process to provide point cloud measurement data and 360°-degree photogrammetry. This gives the client a single, up to date record of all their buildings, which they access remotely via the Twin portal.
Combined with automated data flows, the superior accuracy of the scans generated by Twin – to within 10mm of the original – ensures that information is reliable. This supports better decisions, and greater control. Clients also benefit from full support from a dedicated Gleeds Twin Helpdesk.
Providing clients with access to digital replicas of their estates significantly increases flexibility, accuracy, and speed. The process on average halves the time required to complete tasks such as reinstatement cost assessments, asset tagging, decarbonisation reports and planned preventative maintenance (PPM). One scan can inform multiple reports without any need to re-visit the site.
Seamless access to and analysis of asset information
A single, comprehensive record of all a client’s buildings minimises inaccuracies, enhances collaboration, and facilitates compliance with the Building Safety Act and insurance liabilities.
Gleeds’ digital-first approach to asset management allows estates to be monitored and managed across their whole lives, from anywhere in the world. This eliminates unnecessary in-person visits for a smarter, less costly, more sustainable and faster experience.
For instance, the traditional approach to asset tagging involves the facilities management (FM) surveyor travelling to the site, physically tagging the asset, and recording the information manually on an Excel spreadsheet. With Digital Twin, they can review the 360° photogrammetry and create the asset tag remotely. Automated prepopulated reporting templates and cost plans eliminates human error. The Twin solution instantly syncs information, tasks or defects with their physical context and location, and shares data across the team to facilitate remote decision making and project planning.
