Financial Institutions
Gleeds advises financial institutions throughout their investment and lending cycles, ensuring that projects are started with diligence, de-risking investors’ capital and adding significant value to the asset development strategy.
Financial institutions operate in a highly regulated, constantly changing landscape.
Having advised funders and investors for decades, Gleeds is well-placed to respond to the opportunities and disruption this presents.
We support financing and structuring solutions for the acquisition, restructuring, and refinancing of development projects. We also implement asset enhancement strategies, mitigate compliance challenges, and achieve the required exit strategy.
Working across the financial services space, we help clients to execute diverse transactions – from asset-rich M&As, to portfolios, to single assets.
Combining broad asset knowledge with specific sector expertise, our teams provide advice and support across all four stages of the investment lifecycle.
Planning
We apply Gleeds’ extensive market intelligence to assess a project’s viability as a pre-requisite for investment decisions. Our initial appraisals thoroughly review all aspects, including risks associated with development.

We also carry out:

We also carry out:
- Technical property management
- Procurement strategies and management
- Opex benchmarking.
Disposal and repurposing
We support the preparation of our clients business case and exit strategy from capital planning to asset repositioning strategy to full site repurposing.
We also carry out:
- Vendor’s due diligence
- Development management
ESG due diligence
Helping clients to meet their ESG (environmental, social and governance) responsibilities during all phases of a project, we evaluate opportunities to create value, and meet investor claims and legal requirements.
Comprehensive audits are used to analyse points such as energy performance, carbon calculations, sustainability, technical building equipment and infrastructure, certifications, adherence to country and/or regional policies such as EU taxonomy.
Technical due diligence
Our technical due diligence service assesses a property’s current quality of construction and specifications, to support our client in the sale or acquisition process. Researching and analysing the building’s condition, we review all relevant documentation to identify risks and mitigation actions.
We assess the structural, technical and legal condition of the property, according to construction law, and compile a financial evaluation of the expected maintenance and repair costs over the coming years.
Environmental due diligence
We carry our phase & environmental due diligence, identifying possible or existing environmental contamination. As with all our due diligence process, we not only identify the risks but look at possible mitigation actions.
We carry out standard or detailed reports depending on the development risk being taken on board by our clients.
