Data centres

Gleeds delivers cutting-edge, resilient data centres that securely house the world’s most critical resource: information.

As trusted partner to 8 of the 10 leading global data centre operators, we play a pivotal role in helping the sector achieve its limitless potential.

The global demand for data centre space is insatiable. Gleeds works with colocation, cloud and telecommunication service providers, as well as enterprise operators, to exploit the opportunities this presents.

We have been responsible for building many of the world’s largest and most technically complicated data centre facilities, for both end user and developer clients. Our capabilities span new construction, retrofits, refits and expansions. We also manage multiple data centre campuses.

The importance of hyperscale data centres will continue to increase as requirements surge. We have successfully delivered hyperscale campuses globally, both build and modular.

Our data centre footprint

To date, Gleeds has built over 100 data centres for regional and global providers across all major international markets.

These facilities deliver a total capacity of 1.2GW, with another 1.3GW currently under construction.

Equipped with digitally led expertise, our spectrum of services includes:

  • Project management
  • Cost and commercial management
  • Scheduling
  • Risk management
  • Integration and technical infrastructure management
  • Design management
  • Commissioning
  • Contracts management

Boosting speed to market

Right now, the principal factor in the successful delivery of a mission-critical data centre is the ability to move fast.

We strengthen our clients’ agility by removing obstacles, and making the unknowns known. Full visibility of cost, location and timelines brings certainty, and enables them to deliver on schedule and within budget.

Future-proofing the data centre to adapt as new technologies emerge is another key priority. We design and plan adaptable facilities that are tailored to the client’s immediate and long-term needs.

Driving lifetime sustainability

Data centres are energy-intensive facilities. Gleeds helps providers to minimise environmental impact and maximise operational efficiency, by reducing both the cost and use of power and resources.

Sustainability is ingrained at every stage of each project we undertake. We advise on efficient energy management, whole life value and lifecycle costing. This includes guidance on cooling systems, renewable energy sources, sea water cooling, energy management and sustainable procurement.

Our expert team can also provide the detailed evidence of carbon reductions, water savings and renewable power sources that have allowed our clients to implement sustainability methods successfully.
