The UK Delivery Team (UKDT) made up of Gleeds, Arup and Mace has launched a report on the impact of Peru Reconstruction, a Government-to-Government (G2G) programme set up in 2020 to accelerate the delivery of critical infrastructure.

In March 2025, with support from the UK Government and the National Infrastructure Authority (ANIN), the UKDT launched the evaluation to assess the impact of the programme and identify key lessons learned.

The final report launched today, provides clear evidence of the programme’s impact on communities across Peru. Infrastructure is being delivered significantly faster than typical public infrastructure in Peru, with schools completed in around 2.5 years compared to five, and healthcare facilities in 2.9 years compared to over seven.

Beyond delivery, the report cites meaningful social and economic impact. Communities report improved access to healthcare and education, increased local economic activity, and stronger community pride and optimism. Flood protection works completed to date are already safeguarding more than 100,000 people, enabling greater resilience and long-term planning.

The impact evaluation highlights not only the quality and pace of infrastructure delivery we’ve supported in Peru, but most importantly, the real, meaningful difference it’s making to people’s lives. It also captures valuable lessons that will inform future programmes, enabling them not just to replicate this success, but to further improve how vital infrastructure is delivered.
