An additional 17 schools have been incorporated into Peru’s Bicentennial Schools Programme, further extending the reach of this national initiative to improve educational infrastructure across the country.

The new schools will be constructed across twelve regions of Peru, providing modern and resilient learning environments for an additional 20,000 students. With this expansion, the programme will benefit more than 138,000 students nationwide.

Led by the Peruvian Ministry of Education and Escuelas Bicentenario, the programme aims to address historical disparities in access to quality education by delivering sustainable, inclusive facilities designed to support long-term community development.
As part of the Koulu consortium, Gleeds, in partnership with Mace, is providing specialised technical assistance to strengthen efficiency, transparency, and quality throughout the delivery of this government-to-government initiative.

To date, 46 schools have been completed and handed over, benefitting over 67,000 students. The addition of these new projects marks a significant step forward in supporting the Peruvian Ministry of Education’s objective to enhance learning environments and educational outcomes across Peru.

This expansion stands as a testament to the strength of our collaboration and the trust placed in our team to assist the Peruvian Government in advancing this transformative national programme. Most importantly, this milestone deepens the programme’s impact, enabling a further 20,000 students across Peru to access quality education, paving the way for a brighter future.
