Having joined Gleeds in 2021, Steve Kelly has made a remarkable impact on the global business through the development of the organisation’s data centres offering. His priority is to spearhead our data centre growth globally, with a specific focus on Europe and North America.
Having qualified as a Quantity Surveyor, Steve’s career has grown from strength to strength and he has a broad portfolio of experience across multiple territories. Having worked in Russia, the Netherlands and Portugal, among others, he’s exceptionally well-versed in delivering data centres in a wide range of markets.
In his day-to-day, Steve’s focus is on meeting with new and existing clients to discuss new and ongoing projects and our service offering at Gleeds, as well as coordinating with Gleeds’ regional leads across different continents. He prioritises service delivery, liaising with different teams to ensure transparency between different projects and promoting a universal understanding of what quality and consistency looks like. Another key facet of his role is working with his senior team to build Gleeds’ profile and expand our presence in the data centres sector.
Steve is motivated by the growth of his team, especially in encouraging the individual aspirations and progression of his colleagues. As a firm believer in leading by example, Steve is invested in the success of his team members and creating a non-hierarchical team structure, as well as in supporting them to deliver the exciting and diverse projects which are redefining the sector.
Steve first came into contact with Gleeds through his professional network, and was drawn in by the organisation’s people-first approach, as well as the accessibility and openness of senior management. After several years in the business, he has sound advice for new or prospective joiners to the business.

Outside of work, Steve enjoys watching football, Star Trek and walking his rescue dog. If he hadn’t taken a leading role in the development of Gleeds’ data centres offering, he would have pursued a career in the aviation sector.
