Gleeds is proud to mark five years of successful delivery in Peru, a milestone that reflects our long-term commitment to supporting the country’s infrastructure development, climate resilience and social equality.
Our presence in Peru began in 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when a team of 11 Gleeds professionals arrived to support the Peruvian Government in delivering the Peru Reconstruction Programme. This nation-wide programme aimed to rebuild essential public infrastructure damaged by the devastating 2017 El Niño phenomenon.
Since then, Gleeds’ operations in Peru have expanded considerably. Our portfolio now includes large-scale infrastructure programmes including Bicentennial Schools, involving the delivery of 75 modern educational facilities, and our current role in the UK Healthcare Alliance, which is supporting the construction of three high-complexity hospitals in Piura, Trujillo, and Abancay. Together, these programmes will improve education and healthcare for over 7 million people across Peru.
Over the past five years, our team has grown from 11 professionals to more than 90, combining both Peruvian and international expertise. This even mix of global experience and local insight remains one of Gleeds’ greatest strengths, enabling the delivery of solutions that are tailored to the unique challenges of Peru, whilst being aligned to international best practice.
Gleeds’ approach has been underpinned by a commitment to long-term capacity building and the development of future talent through extensive knowledge transfer initiatives and structured internship and graduate programmes, to ensure that Peru can continue its regeneration for years to come.
We are also proud to work alongside our joint venture partners - Mace, Arup, AECOM, and Currie & Brown - whose collaboration has been critical to the success of our operations in Peru.
