In 2025, Gleeds will be celebrating a significant milestone in our organisation’s history – our 150th anniversary! Since 1875, we’ve been building upon the legacy and vision of Richard C. Gleed: to create a more connected, sustainable world.
Founded in London, by Islington born Richard C. Gleed, Gleeds was initially focused on quantity surveying and bills of quantities, however, over the following years we've expanded our offering, evolving to meet the continuous changes and developments of the built environment. Today, we operate in 27 countries, with a diverse service offering across 14 different sectors including energy, data centres, infrastructure, life sciences and public sector.
Throughout our 150-year history, we’ve played a pivotal role in shaping the built environment. From transformative infrastructure to iconic landmarks and the largest data centre in Europe, we’ve delivered hundreds of projects, no matter the size or scope, with the promise of creating a better tomorrow.
Reflecting on the last 150 years of success, our CEO, Graham Harle says
Reaching this remarkable 150-year milestone is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our people and the connections we’ve built with our clients and supply chain. We are proud of our heritage, but we are equally excited about the future and the continued role we will play in shaping the industry for the next 150 years!
As part of our anniversary celebrations, we will be sharing a host of historical pieces throughout the year, along with articles and video content. With our strong foundation built on excellence, innovation, and collaboration, Gleeds is poised for continued growth, ensuring we remain a trusted partner for clients and a leader in the built environment for many years to come.
