A historic icon transformed into modern luxury

1/2

Hotel Warszawa is located in the center of Warsaw, at Plac Powstańców Warszawy. It is the former Prudential skyscraper, one of the most well-known buildings of interwar architecture in Poland.

It was designed by Marcin Weinfeld and opened in 1934. At the time, it was one of the tallest buildings in Europe. Gleeds supported this project by fulfilling the role of Lenders’ Representative.

The Prudential skyscraper became a symbol of modernity and the rebirth of Warsaw after World War I. Its innovative steel-reinforced concrete structure was an important element of the capital’s dynamic urbanization. The building survived bombings during the Warsaw Uprising, although it was severely damaged. After the war, it was rebuilt and served various functions over the years.

Currently, after extensive modernization, it houses Hotel Warszawa. The total area of the building is 17,600 sqm, and the total usable area is 13,600 sqm. The hotel complex consists of a 16-story tower, which contains the main lobby and hotel rooms, a 6-story section with hotel rooms, and a 2-story underground section with commercial, gastronomical, and conference functions, and an underground swimming pool.
