Oskar Sarnecki oversees a growing project management team in his role as Director of the Warsaw Office at Gleeds. His role encompasses managing and supervising the team, negotiating with clients and contractors, exploring business development opportunities, supporting the bidding team, and maintaining business relations with clients and other entities involved in project delivery.
A typical day for Oskar involves prioritising tasks, conducting team and external meetings, briefing on main projects, financial reporting, making key decisions and solving problems. He finds motivation in collaborating with a diverse group of people, creating and implementing new solutions, and contributing to the buildings that shape the Warsaw skyline.
Oskar's natural inclination towards multitasking and project management drew him to this sector. He finds fulfilment in the communication and relationship-building opportunities that come with the job. "I could never get bored," he shares.
It was important for me to work for a well-established company, especially one within an international business environment. Gleeds provided me with opportunities to grow and develop professionally. I began my journey with Gleeds as an Assistant Project Manager and have since progressed to my current position.
The value that resonates most with Oskar is the combination of professionalism with personality. He appreciates competence, integrity and respect delivered with a friendly and respectful approach. For newcomers to Gleeds, his advice is:
Don't be afraid to take responsibility for your decisions and actions, regardless of the stage of your career.
Oskar's proudest achievement at Gleeds is his ability to lead one of the largest teams in the Polish business. His team is diverse in age, gender and experience but united in their focus on client satisfaction and success.
Outside of work, Oskar enjoys Iberian cuisine, culture and literature. If he hadn’t pursued a career in project management, he believes he would have become a neurologist, a testament to his interest in understanding complex systems, whether in buildings or the human brain.
