Gleeds has a long-standing professional relationship with our client Four Parx, having successfully provided services for commercial and logistics developments in Kriftel and Groß-Gerau. Building on this partnership, we are now supporting Four Parx in Hamburg with a pioneering project: Germany’s first two-storey commercial and logistics centre, designed to meet the growing demand for centrally located logistics space in urban areas.
The innovative centre addresses the increasing shortage of space close to the city while providing state-of-the-art logistics functionality. Both levels of the facility are self-sufficient and identical, offering clear heights of 10 meters and fully equipped docking stations to facilitate efficient loading and unloading. The upper level is accessible via two one-way ramps with a gentle 6% gradient, designed to accommodate all types of trucks safely and efficiently. To ensure year-round usability, the ramps can be heated, guaranteeing smooth operations in all weather conditions. Both levels are engineered to support heavy trucks up to 45 tons, making the facility suitable for large-scale commercial logistics operations.
Sustainability is a central component of the project. The centre is being constructed to BREEAM Excellent standards, integrating environmentally responsible materials and design practices. In addition, the building incorporates considerations for e-mobility, including infrastructure for electric vehicle use, reflecting Four Parx’s commitment to future-ready logistics solutions. Strategically located near key transport connections in Hamburg, the site offers excellent accessibility for regional and urban distribution, reinforcing its value as a logistics hub.
Gleeds has been appointed as Project Manager to support Four Parx’s in-house development team, providing expert guidance across all phases of the project. Our role includes strategic project oversight, coordination of stakeholders, schedule management, and risk mitigation, ensuring that the development meets ambitious targets for functionality, efficiency, and sustainability. By maintaining close collaboration with the client’s internal team, we help translate their vision into a practical, fully operational logistics centre that meets the highest standards of quality and performance.
