Gleeds has published its 2026 Fairness, Inclusion and Respect (FIR) report, outlining the progress made to date and the actions the business is taking to build a more inclusive, diverse and sustainable future.
The report reinforces Gleeds’ long-term commitment to embedding fairness, inclusion and respect across all aspects of its operations, from leadership and decision-making to the employee experience and project delivery.
Louise Ellis, Chief People Officer at Gleeds, said: “Fairness, inclusion and respect is not a standalone initiative at Gleeds - it is fundamental to how we operate as a business. Our focus is on ensuring every colleague feels they belong and has fair access to opportunity and progression.”
An embedded, business-wide approach
The report outlines how FIR is integrated into Gleeds’ wider strategy, supporting business performance, talent retention and client outcomes. As a global construction consultancy, Gleeds recognises the importance of building diverse teams that bring broader perspectives and deliver stronger results.
It also highlights the role FIR plays in supporting the company’s ESG commitments, particularly in attracting talent, strengthening engagement and managing risk across the business.
Progress and priorities
The report reflects positive progress across several areas, driven by colleague input, local initiatives and global programmes. These include strengthening inclusive culture and continuing to invest in development and career progression.
In the UK, Gleeds has expanded its Allies for Inclusion networks, while Women at Gleeds provides a global platform to support gender equity across the business. Approaches to wellbeing, flexible working and employee listening also continue to develop across the organisation, with initiatives shaped by local market needs.
In addition, employee feedback programmes, including Great Place to Work in selected markets such as the UK, Peru and India, continue to provide valuable insight into colleague experience and help inform ongoing improvements.
The report also sets out areas of continued focus, including improving representation at senior levels and strengthening consistency and transparency in progression and opportunity.
Turning commitment into action
Through a combination of global initiatives, regional programmes and project delivery, the report demonstrates how FIR is being applied in practice, supporting colleagues, shaping culture and contributing to wider industry change.
We are clear about where we need to go next. By focusing on measurable outcomes and continuing to listen to our people, we will build on the progress we’ve made and create a culture where everyone can thrive.
