Suzanne Tearle joined Gleeds in 2021 as Head of Defence and has since played a significant role in furthering our offering in the constantly evolving defence industry.
She is focused on promoting the profile of Gleeds across the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and in the wider UK and Europe defence industries, creating new opportunities and building on the good work and relationships we have with many existing clients.
A powerful driver is the opportunity to create valuable outcomes: on projects, for clients, and among the teams she leads. Having worked on an enviable portfolio of programmes across the globe, she thrives in the breadth of variety this huge sector brings. Her experiences working as a consultant and a senior civil servant across transformational change, equipment and infrastructure, allow her to offer a unique perspective into client thinking and priorities.
Suzanne’s mantra is “good business is good manners”, which aligns closely with our Gleeds value of “professionalism with personality”. She is proud to play a supporting role in creating UK defence capability outcomes, regularly connecting with colleagues past and present, across MOD and industry communities. She is also a huge advocate for participation in the sector, challenging the impression that defence can be a difficult industry for newcomers to assimilate. Her belief is that the needs of defence are so multi-layered that everyone can contribute, encouraging colleagues to bring their directly transferable expertise and skills to this dynamic sector.
Gleeds is a highly enabling environment, where I am trusted to lead and grow our profile and capability across the sector. Independent and forward-looking, it’s a business nimble enough to keep pace with the changing needs of both our industry and wider society. I love the fact I can lift the phone to almost anyone in the organisation and have a productive conversation.
