Meet Veronica, a Cost Manager based in our Milan office. Veronica joined Gleeds after working as an external consultant with us during the Covid-19 pandemic.
She quickly fell in love with the Gleeds culture and knew it was a place she could expand and access multiple geographical teams, locally and internationally.
As a member of Gleeds’ Cost Management team, the most important aspect of my role is to define the best strategy to suit each of my clients. I have to tailor the expectations of my clients whilst bringing their vision into a reality – which can be tricky, but is always rewarding!
Typically, Veronica’s day starts with a ‘long black coffee’, checking emails, writing a strong to-do-list and delegating out tasks. Much of her time is filled with meeting with Gleeds colleagues and clients as well as reporting and commenting on project progress. She tries hard to stay on top of current events by reading the newspaper each morning and keeping ahead of the needs of our clients. Outside of work, Veronica describes her two young sons as her ‘trainers, mentors and entertainers’ and she can often be found practicing yoga or going on a hike – often with a stroller!
The special thing about Gleeds is everyone is passionate about their work. We all work collaboratively to support each other through every phase of a project. Gleeds gives you the opportunity to not only be a number on a list but a face and contributor to each project and that’s what I value most about being here: Gleeds sees the value in the people before the project.
When describing what drew her to Gleeds, Veronica noted she saw first hand the can-do attitude of our colleagues and the prestige of our projects when she’d worked with us externally and realised it was something she wanted to be a part of. She noted the global opportunities were abundant and personal progression was at the heart of our culture ‘Gleeds work with people but they also let their people evolve’.
I was sincerely impressed by the company structure, the potential for worldwide experience with so many associates and different cultures. Last but not the least the possibility to have access to the Gleeds Academy, a smart platform which supports you to increase your abilities and skills, was a great point that brought me closer to choosing a Gleeds career.
Veronica is currently working across multiple sectors in Milan: from logistics to manufacturing cost to residential and up to hospitality.
