Tony Morrice is the Director of Life Sciences for the UK and Ireland at Gleeds, a field marked by its diversity and potential to significantly impact people's lives. His responsibilities range from project and programme-based tasks, providing technical support across regions, to shaping business strategies and enhancing Gleeds’ growing reputation and presence.
Tony's days are far from routine, reflecting the varied nature of his work. Whether working from home, client sites, attending sector-based conferences and events, or visiting regional offices, his schedule is a blend of business development activities, project deliverables, and supporting the wider UK team in achieving substantial targets and opportunities. His motivation stems from the meaningful impact his projects can have on improving lives.
Life sciences has always inspired me, the projects are diverse and variable with no projects being identical in their therapeutic objectives and technology deployed. It is truly a global sector with clients that inspire and value the input of partners they employ to help and guide them through each stage of their capital investments.
Tony was drawn to Gleeds by its people-centric culture, strong focus on integrity, and innovative approach to addressing client challenges. He resonates with the company’s values, particularly excellence with humility. On a personal level, Tony highly values trust and integrity, which translates as always doing the right thing and believing in oneself, colleagues, and behaving in a way that clients can depend on. Tony advises anyone joining Gleeds to be passionate about what you do, always maintain clear communication and understand the Gleeds core values to integrate with the wider Gleeds communities.
Although his tenure at Gleeds has been relatively short to date, Tony is proud of his career achievements so far, having worked on projects that provide life-enhancing or life-extending therapies and medicines. He looks forward to continuing this impactful work at Gleeds and adding to his career legacy, and his contributions to Gleeds are poised to make a significant difference in the field.
Outside of work. Tony enjoys playing sports such as golf and football, staying active, and spending quality time with his family and friends. If he hadn’t pursued a career in life sciences, Tony might have been a chef, having trained in his teenage years, or perhaps an IT professional, given his several computer-based qualifications from college.
