Currently assigned to the new Sizewell C nuclear power station, Talia is responsible for the rollout of IT services for the MEHA (mechanical, electrical, heating and air-conditioning) team.
Her role includes coordinating stakeholders, managing progress towards delivery milestones, and implementing digital solutions effectively to support project readiness.
One of her proudest moments has been successfully deploying a key digital tool, which she now manages and runs. “This tool is fundamental to the client’s operations, and I’m proud to have contributed to its development and ongoing success,” she explains.
Talia also serves as the Gleeds Energy Social Value Champion, supporting our efforts to make a positive impact on communities. Talia draws motivation from the potential she sees in Gleeds and the wider energy sector.
I believe the opportunities ahead are limitless. Our work is intellectually stimulating, constantly evolving, and full of space for innovation.
The people Talia works with also spur her on: “I greatly admire them, and their influence inspires me to develop into a leader who provides that same support and representation. Becoming a strong female role model is important to me – helping to create a more accessible pathway into this sector.”
Gleeds is sponsoring Talia in pursuing a degree in Construction Project Management. When she applied for apprenticeships, her meeting with Gleeds stood out immediately.
I had not realised I would have the opportunity to work in an environment that felt so forward-thinking and, in a very Gen Z sense, genuinely cool.
Having originally considered teaching as a career, Talia describes feeling there was a “missing piece”, and she now understands what that was. “I still get to nurture and guide people, but I’m also part of a dynamic, fast-moving sector that continually challenges and excites me. This gives me a sense of fulfilment and purpose I didn’t know I was looking for.”
When not at work, Talia finds that spending time with her family is the best way to switch off and recharge. She’s also an avid reader of thrillers and psychological fiction, and loves experimenting with cooking different cuisines, especially Caribbean.
