Director, Steve Teare is responsible for delivering cost management services throughout the North West of England, while overseeing the operations of the Gleeds Liverpool office. His role involves leading his team, managing complex projects, and building strong client relationships.
Originally from the Isle of Man, Steve moved to Liverpool at 18 and began his career with a small contractor, where he discovered a passion for quantity surveying. Despite having worked in Manchester and other parts of the North West, Liverpool has always been his home base, taking pride in the tangible outputs of project delivery and believing results stand as a testament of his team’s work. Over his career, he has earned an MSc in BIM with Integrated Design and successfully completed the NEC4: ECC Project Manager Accreditation.
Now with Gleeds for almost 10 years, Steve's motivation comes from the connections he makes with clients and team members while solving complex problems. Among many notable career achievements, he is most proud of delivering 1,100 COVID-19 field hospital beds across four sites in North Wales, exemplifying exceptional collaboration and a unified project goal.

A typical day for Steve starts early as he balances his personal and professional life. After getting his son ready for breakfast club, Steve heads to the office where he reviews and updates his to-do list, discusses projects with colleagues, explores new opportunities and ensures all actions are completed.
Outside of work, Steve is an avid snowboarder, recently completed his first ultra-marathon and is exploring yoga and meditation.
