Simon Williams is Gleeds’ Regional Management Director (South) of UK Property. Excluding London, Simon is responsible for the southern half of the UK.
This leadership role extends across six offices situated in: Cambridge, Oxford, Tunbridge Wells, Southampton, Bristol and Cardiff. His role includes playing a leading role in several of our client teams, SLT Ambassador for Race Allies Inclusion Group and holding the position of Social Value Champion for UK South.
Simon enjoys leading the performance of the region in terms of managing profit, providing excellent client service and collaborating with our teams across the region. He also focuses on sharing the Gleeds core value and behaviours with our teams and clients and promoting an inclusive and diverse working environment.
Simon is motivated by a passion for developing and delivering key projects, such as schools, hospitals, town centre regeneration (including for the community in which he grew up and still lives in). This commitment is exemplified by his success in managing the Children’s Hospital for Wales programme. Throughout the project duration, the team raised £86k in charitable donations allowing money to be reinvested to buy medical equipment – a respectable commitment to social value at a time when it wasn't as widely recognised as it is today. His proactive ethos continues to currently deliver similar results across the South region with exemplary social value performance benefiting a diverse range of local communities.
Having been a part of Gleeds for two decades, Simon has played a pivotal role in the evolution of the business over the years. He continues to prioritise creating opportunities that empower and inspire our team members. He advises individuals joining the team to absorb and learn from the wealth of knowledge, training tools and expertise in their surroundings. He encourages his teams to aim high, approach challenges creatively and make the most of every opportunity.
Outside of work, Simon enjoys cycling, playing the guitar and cherishing valuable moments with his partner and family.
