Life Sciences Lead, Europe

“Life Sciences is one of the most exciting and impactful sectors in the built environment,” according to Serdal Yüceel, who leads the successful delivery of complex capital investment projects for clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and advanced manufacturing industries.

Helping to transform strategic objectives into operational facilities, Serdal’s days are typically split between supporting project delivery teams, engaging with major international clients, and developing new business opportunities. His greatest motivations include building long-term partnerships with clients, and enabling them to solve complex challenges. He’s especially proud of the part he plays in the continued expansion of Gleeds’ presence in Life Sciences across Europe – and in driving the growth of the sector as a whole.

Our projects directly contribute to healthcare innovation, advanced therapies and manufacturing capabilities that improve people's lives. The combination of technical complexity and societal impact makes the sector highly rewarding.

Serdal was attracted to Gleeds by the combination of entrepreneurial thinking and international reach we offered. In particular, he says, he appreciates “the opportunity to work across different markets, and contribute to the long-term growth of a business that values both technical excellence and client relationships.” Professionalism and collaboration are the values that Serdal stands by most wholeheartedly.

“The best outcomes are achieved when people work together with openness, integrity and a shared commitment to excellence.

In fact, the key piece of advice he’d give to a new starter at Gleeds would be to invest in building relationships. “This is ultimately a people business. Your ability to collaborate, communicate and create trust will often be what defines your success.”

Outside of work, Serdal likes to spend time with his family, and also to mentor young professionals: “I’m passionate about education, and enjoy sharing industry knowledge through teaching and development activities.”
