Richard is a Chartered Surveyor and business leader with over 15 years’ experience driving strategic growth, commercial real estate investment and advancement across the built environment.
His work is guided by a simple philosophy: do good, have fun and stay creative; using construction as a force for positive change for clients, cities and communities alike.
As an Associate Director, he leads initiatives that align client requirements, market intelligence and service innovation to deliver sustainable growth. With a background spanning real estate consultancy, digital transformation and brand thinking, he brings a pragmatic yet imaginative lens to complex challenges, supporting clients to achieve their objectives.
Beyond his role at Gleeds, Richard is actively involved in shaping industry dialogue and standards. He contributes through his work with the City Architecture Forum, the Circular Do Tank and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors; championing resilience, sustainability and long-term value. He is particularly passionate about mentoring emerging talent and building meaningful relationships, believing that the most transformative projects are born where trust, curiosity and collaboration meet.
Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, travelling, music and cycling; often combining them all in pursuit of new places, good food and fresh perspectives. Had his career taken a different path, it would likely still involve creativity, people and problem-solving; the constants that continue to define his approach to leadership at Gleeds.
