Role

UK Head of Infrastructure

Location

Manchester, United Kingdom

As Gleeds' Head of UK Infrastructure, Paul, leads a dynamic consultancy team of 160. For Paul, it’s exciting working in a sector where large investments yield significant social impact.

Paul joined Gleeds in 2021 and in that time has quadrupled the headcount in the infrastructure team, adopting and implementing an innovative and nurturing leadership approach to enable the sustainable growth of the sector.

Having started his career in a civil engineering apprenticeship, his hunger for a more dynamic and fast-paced environment led him to shift gears into project management, working on large infrastructure projects for Network Rail. Paul’s love of complex, dynamic projects was ignited by seeing the social impact of his work. From this, his core motivation at work is to bring Gleeds into new sectors and areas of growth where the delivery and impact of projects can be realised.

Paul’s role at Gleeds is to drive the Infrastructure team through its growth journey, diversifying the business and balancing its project portfolio. He describes this finetuning as ‘disruptive and challenging, yet highly rewarding’ which is only possible because of the autonomy employees are given. Paul’s passion is to build a resilient, future-proof team, embracing career progression and enabling the next generation to develop, drive innovation and shape the industry.

I’ll give you an analogy…at most companies you’re boarding a plane heading to a fixed destination. At Gleeds be ready to jump into the cockpit; you’re the navigator, your opinion matters and ultimately, you’re able to influence our destination.

Paul's overall ambition is to position the UK infrastructure business in a unique space where they are known for leading innovation and driving the digital agenda. Outside of work, Paul enjoys family time, including his extended family of cats, dogs, mice, and rabbits. His interests span cycling, running, and taking his motorbike out for a spin.
