Muir acts as Gleeds’ Regional Director for Africa, bringing over 40 years of experience in construction to his role.
Based in Cairo for almost 15 years, Muir oversees all operations across Egypt and Africa. His responsibilities range from shaping business development strategies to ensuring project delivery and client satisfaction. His leadership anchors a diverse portfolio of activities, all aimed at driving growth and excellence.
A typical day begins with a walk through Maadi’s leafy streets to Gleeds' offices in Degla, where he coordinates with a talented team across HR, IT, Finance, and Technical Delivery.
Beyond the office, Muir frequently travels throughout Cairo, along Egypt’s north coast, and across Africa, visiting sites, managing projects, and building relationships with clients in countries such as South Africa, Botswana, and Tanzania.
Grateful for the guidance and support he received early in his career, Muir is committed to giving back to an industry that has transformed significantly over the years. His passion for construction stems from his good fortune at having been involved in a number of landmark projects. His time in North Africa has led to a deep connection with the region and its people.
