Muhammed Dodo, a Director in our UAE office leads the strategic delivery of cost consultancy services across the UAE and the wider GCC region.
His role includes business development, project resourcing, execution, planning, and oversight of key deliverables. He also serves as Head of Quality and Performance (QMS), ensuring technical excellence and compliance with industry standards. With added responsibility for team development and operational efficiency, he works closely with clients to deliver commercially successful outcomes across all project stages.
Working in the UAE, he says there’s always time built in his “typical day” for the unexpected. It is usually filled with meetings, along with dedicated time to connect with the team and review the status of key deliverables.
Muhammed says his family is his greatest motivation as they inspire him to stay focused, work hard, and always aim higher. He was inspired to work in the construction sector by his father, a Quantity Surveyor who ran his own practice for over 40 years. The appeal of the UAE - particularly before the 2008 recession - was clear: the chance to contribute to its rapidly evolving skyline and be part of iconic projects rarely seen elsewhere. When asked what attracted him to Gleeds, he says “simply the people” as he knew several people working in the business before he joined, some of whom were in his social circle.
Muhammed says that Gleeds’ strong sense of a family environment, supported by a culture of inclusivity and collaboration resonates most with him as it creates a space where people feel respected, supported, and motivated to do their best. In terms of his proudest achievement, Muhammed says that this was his role in successfully managing the UAE office post-recession and maintaining market presence and client relationships despite limited resources during a particularly challenging period.
Outside of work, he enjoys family and friends time, swimming, watching football and F1 racing. If he wasn’t in his current role, he’d be in computer programming or farming as he’s fascinated by the power of computing and AI. At the same time, he’s equally drawn to the simplicity and tranquillity that comes with farming - a grounding contrast to the fast-paced professional world.
