Monika Grünheid is the Human Resources Manager at Gleeds Germany, responsible for the strategic development of the HR department.
Having been with the company for nearly 26 years, she supports both leaders and employees across all areas of recruitment, people development, and employment law. In her role, she ensures that processes run smoothly, manages the entire application and selection process, facilitates effective communication, and conducts development and annual review meetings. She also works continuously on improving HR services and systems to strengthen the employee experience.
Her daily work includes conducting interviews, reviewing new applications, and handling a wide range of operational and administrative HR tasks. She also regularly travels to Gleeds’ various German locations to meet colleagues in person, discuss current matters, and maintain close connections across teams. Monika is driven by the desire to grow, learn something new every day, and contribute to the company’s ongoing development.
Her interest in people, their personalities, and the field of employment law has always drawn her to work in HR. While these topics initially made up only a small part of her role, they have grown to become the centre of her career. She values the professional, collaborative environment at Gleeds, where colleagues work together as equals. Her guiding principle is:
Knowledge is power, shared knowledge is success.
To new colleagues, Monika advises embracing curiosity, enjoying collaboration, being proactive, and seeing challenges as opportunities — because Gleeds offers an environment that encourages development and engagement. Among her proudest achievements are building and shaping the HR department and being part of the company's growth.
Outside of work, Monika enjoys spending quiet time on her own, practising piano or reading, as well as traveling with her partner, staying active, and meeting with friends and family. If she had not pursued a career in HR, she could imagine being a writer or a marine biologist, dedicating her work to protecting nature and the environment.
