Mark Graves, Senior Director, has a proven track record spanning three decades in the energy and defence sectors.
He was drawn to these particularly due to the scale and critical importance of the programmes he has supported, finding fulfilment in delivering work that has a lasting and meaningful impact. Mark enjoys the challenge of expanding market share and enhancing quality of service through both organic growth and pursuing new opportunities.
As a relative newcomer to Gleeds, he was initially attracted to Gleeds by its reputation, proud heritage and strong organisational culture. He also felt a strong alignment to Gleeds’ purpose and values, and especially to that of professionalism with personality.
Over the course of his career, Mark has achieved several significant milestones, including the creation, negotiation and implementation of strategic long-term agreements with a significant impact on the industry. Known for his people-focused leadership style, he builds strong, enduring relationships with clients and is passionate about creating positive environments for the teams he leads.
He is committed to talent development and championing professional growth for his junior colleagues, aligning closely with Gleeds’ core values. Outside of work Mark is passionate about the gym, taking his dog on walks and spending quality time with his family. He also likes to travel, and the occasional round of golf! Had he not built a successful career in the defence sector, Mark might have pursued his law degree further and continued the path to becoming a barrister.
