Manar Omar, Project Manager from Cairo, has recently made the move from our Egypt headquarters to Dubai where she’s helping to deliver some of our most prestigious Middle Eastern projects.
For Manar, project management is innate to her personality – her fastidious nature allows her to embed organisation, adaptability and ambition into everything she does. Her role sees her fulfilling construction and fit-out projects, where she has seen through the ambitions of some of the world’s most well-known brand names, to deliver their vision on a number of large-scale projects.
People tell me I’m a project manager by nature, it’s not a job for me but a whole lifestyle. It’s who I am.
Manar’s passion for project management and construction began as a child, where as long as she can remember it has been the career she wanted to pursue. Her working life started in structural engineering but a passion for people and realising the impact of her work led her down a path to project management. Day to day, Manar is responsible for the whole life cycle of a project from inception, drafting, tendering, managing design, evaluation, managing on-site execution right up until handover and closure. She puts teamwork above all else, describing her key target of the day as ‘making sure everyone in the team is aligned and collaborating openly and effectively’.
In 2023, Manar seized the opportunity to move from Gleeds Egypt to Gleeds UAE to embark on a new set of unique and prestigious projects in one of the most iconic construction regions on the planet.
Since relocating to Dubai, she has felt welcomed and supported by her new team and says:
Gleeds has never failed me. I have the same work environment here as I did back home and that’s down to the people I work with.
Outside of work, Manar enjoys yoga, painting, socialising in good company and drinking coffee.
