I have been fascinated with buildings ever since I was a child and always dreamed of having a career related to the built environment. Seeing an idea transform into a fully functional asset to serve its purpose is incredibly rewarding.
It was our long-standing history as a global independent consultancy that drew Kamlesh to Gleeds. Throughout his 16 years with the organisation, he has been able grow and advance his career, with his proudest achievement being his appointment as Country Director in Qatar. He believes our global network has played a part in his professional success, finding the flexibility and opportunities it provides to be some of the most rewarding aspects of working at here.
Away from work, he enjoys spending time with his family and exploring new places, especially museums and learning about new cultures. He takes great joy in planting herbs and flowers with his children during the winter months, finding it therapeutic to work with plants and potting soil.
Although initially exploring architecture and civil engineering, he chose quantity surveying as his career. He was very fond of design and technology in secondary school, and so had he not become a cost manager, he may have pursued a career in interior design.
