Jonathan is a Senior People Development Partner, based in Nottingham, having joined the People team in 2021.
Jonathan admits that he fell into HR when a training position became available, and over 15 years later he’s still in HR and on a very successful journey within it. It’s no wonder then that Jonathan says his chief motivation lies in educating people:
I love seeing that ‘lightbulb moment’ when what I’ve said has been taken onboard and applied and used to make a difference.

Jonathan’s chief role is looking after Gleeds’ management and leadership development, offering Gleeds people development opportunities and advancing the collective knowledge of the business. This is all underpinned by using extensive knowledge in theories to support adult learning. His four-stage process (training needs analysis, design, delivery, and evaluation) has helped evolve the people management development programme, resulting in an increase of 200% in participants in the programme in 2023 – his proudest achievement whilst at Gleeds. Jonathan is also passionate about the culture of the business, resonating with the value ‘we combine professionalism with personality’, and sees it as of the utmost importance that everyone is happy to bring their whole self to work every day – supporting the creation of a happier team that has diversity in thought.
Outside of Gleeds, Jonathan is a supporter of Nottingham Forest, “a love-hate relationship”, avid snowboarder and loves to spend time with his family – particularly cooking.
