Irene Vera is a Senior Project Controller at Gleeds, specialising in project controls and digital programme management within the infrastructure sector.

She plays a leading role in the delivery of the Bicentennial Schools Programme in Peru, overseeing its digital, financial and administrative functions to support effective delivery and collaboration across multiple stakeholders. Irene’s role is highly dynamic, combining digital innovation, programme operations and stakeholder engagement. She is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the programme’s digital systems, supporting the implementation of new technologies and ensuring teams are engaged from the outset to maximise impact.

Alongside this, she helps promote effective communication, collaboration and alignment across programme partners. She also contributes to business growth initiatives, championing Gleeds’ Project Controls and PMO expertise and supporting the development of new opportunities in the Peruvian market.

Drawn to Gleeds by its values-driven culture and commitment to innovation, Irene enjoys working in an environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth. One of her proudest achievements has been contributing to the visibility of Gleeds’ expertise and best practice in Peru, helping to demonstrate the value that effective Project Controls and PMO can bring to complex infrastructure programmes.

Her advice to anyone joining Gleeds is simple:

Stay curious and ask questions. Understanding the reasons behind decisions and building strong relationships from the outset are key to long-term success.

Outside of work, Irene enjoys cooking and experimenting with new recipes alongside her daughters. If she had not pursued a career in construction consultancy, she believes she would have worked in nutrition, combining her passion for wellbeing with her love of caring for others through food.
