Guy Bonser is a Senior Director within Gleeds' London Cost Management team, specialising in commercial developments and providing cost management and expert witness services across a diverse range of projects.
With extensive experience in the commercial sector, Guy leads teams delivering complex schemes ranging from major refurbishments and new-build developments to workplace transformations and CAT B fit-outs. He works closely with both occupier and landlord clients, helping them navigate projects from inception through to successful completion.
Guy’s role combines business development, client engagement, project oversight, site visits and team leadership, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards while building strong, lasting relationships across the industry. What continues to inspire Guy is the opportunity to experience something new with every project. He enjoys the challenges, unexpected twists and collaborative problem-solving that come with the role, as well as the sense of achievement that comes from seeing a project successfully completed.
Guy is particularly drawn to the sector's energy and innovation. He enjoys working with both occupier and landlord clients, whose differing perspectives help shape some of the most exciting office environments in the UK and Europe. Having joined Gleeds many years ago, Guy believes the company's enduring appeal lies in its ability to maintain a family-oriented culture while operating as a global business. He encourages new colleagues to embrace every opportunity available, whether through projects, social initiatives or ESG activities.
Among his career highlights are delivering Spotify's London headquarters, a particularly memorable project given his passion for music, and contributing to the development of the iconic former Greater London Authority building at More London on the banks of the Thames. Equally rewarding has been mentoring and supporting colleagues throughout their careers, helping them develop into accomplished surveyors and future leaders.
Outside of work, Guy leads an active lifestyle. He is a drummer in a rock band and enjoys skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, road cycling and bike touring. A keen sports fan, he follows rugby and cricket, and he is also a retired Army Reserve officer and former tank commander.
