Graham Starling

Role

Director, Development Management, Advisory

Location

London, United Kingdom

As a lynchpin of Gleeds’ Advisory service, Graham Starling is responsible for guiding clients through the complexities of their projects, in order to achieve the very best outcomes. This can involve establishing opportunities, defining a brief, and helping to deliver the project through to completion.

Working closely together with colleagues from across the business, Graham’s role includes finding solutions to issues and challenges, and ensuring that clients and Gleeds teams are kept up to date with – and working towards – project objectives.

Something that particularly motivates Graham is providing an exemplary service to clients. Having respect for others, and exceeding clients’ expectations through professionalism, are the Gleeds behaviours he most identifies with.

Graham also finds it rewarding to see projects taking shape and being successfully delivered. He states that his proudest achievement during his time with the business has been “obtaining repeat work from clients, particularly when someone comes back to us after they’ve changed role – or even employer.”

Graham was attracted to work in the construction sector by the idea of being a part of creating the built environment, and collaborating with project teams to make this happen. As to why he was drawn to work for Gleeds, he says:

It was their reputation and ‘get it done’ attitude, along with their willingness to put their trust in you, and the support you get as an employee. I’d advise anyone who is joining Gleeds to embrace all the opportunities available to them.

When he’s not at work, Graham enjoys spending time with family, walking the dog, and photography – in fact, he says that if he hadn’t joined the construction industry this may have been his career path of choice!
