Ed Horne, a Senior Director within the project management team in London, has enjoyed a career of over 30 years in the built environment, bringing knowledge and expertise to client’s projects.
Initially trained as a building surveyor, which provided an invaluable in-depth knowledge of buildings and construction, Ed realised it was the field of project management that excited him which allowed him to harness the skills learned as a surveyor and bring them into practice.
This interest came from a desire to work in London and to have the ability to work on iconic projects that shape the built environment. He was first drawn to Gleeds due to the variety of clients and projects and saw an opportunity to lead and grow the project management team.

Day to day, Ed provides governance as part of the London Senior Management team, providing strategic inputs to the London business and the delivery of a variety of projects which span multiple sectors including commercial and residential, with his specialist sector being West End commercial development and refurbishment.
Outside of work, Ed leads an active lifestyle, enjoying golf, squash, and running. He also values spending time with his family and particularly enjoys watching his children play football from the sidelines. If he hadn’t pursued a career in project management, he might have continued in building surveying, but his passion for the project management side of the built environment ultimately shaped his career path.
