A member of Gleeds’ UK Infrastructure Senior Leadership Team, Damien heads up the delivery of cost management services to clients across sectors, including rail, utilities, and highways.

No one working day is the same, but his diary will often include tasks involved in team engagement, bidding, operations, and adding value to clients. There’s no greater motivation for Damien than people; specifically, creating an environment that fosters an engaged and empowered team, which allows Gleeds to attract the best talent and develop them to reach their full potential. 

“My upbringing instilled values of hard work, loyalty, respect and teamwork,” Damien explains. “This flows through to my leadership style, which is around openness to learning and helping others succeed.” It’s not surprising, then, that making people a priority is one of the reasons he chose to join Gleeds, alongside our independence and heritage:

Damien chose to pursue a career in the infrastructure sector due to the multi-faceted impact it has on society. “It improves connectivity, and supports economic growth by creating jobs – and also helps with sustainability,” he explains. Asked which one of Gleeds’ three core values he feels most in tune with, Damien answers:

He states his proudest achievement since joining Gleeds as helping to expand the infrastructure team from 30 to 250 people within five years, and growing the HS2 account to be one of our largest accounts globally.

Outside of work Damien is a massive sports fan, and a lifelong supporter of Preston North End. “I’m also a UEFA B qualified football coach – and am currently coaching my daughter’s team,” he adds.
