Colin Ross is the Country Director for Gleeds Ukraine, taking on various roles to navigate the challenges posed by the ongoing war. With a background in Quantity Surveying and Project Management, his role involves ensuring ongoing operations are a success.
Colin's day often starts early with a morning run, covering anywhere between 7 and 20 km, depending on the day’s schedule. Amidst varied responsibilities, he dedicates time to his team, his clients, reviewing business development and marketing opportunities and focusing on new business whilst remaining close to existing projects. Motivated by a desire to make a positive impact, he is committed to contributing to the post-war rebuilding of Ukraine.
After moving to Ukraine in 1997, he quickly fell in love with the country and its people - one person in particular, who he subsequently married. Over the years, his work in Ukraine has been both challenging and rewarding, creating a strong allegiance to the country and its future.
He joined Gleeds in late 2021, excited by their vision for the Ukrainian business and their impressive global network. The war began a short time later, meaning the suspension of all work and many team members becoming displaced. Striving to lead his team through uncertainty, he provides ongoing support to our affected colleagues. He takes immense pride in Ukraine's resilience, sustaining operations through difficult times and securing new commissions despite the challenges.

Outside of work, he can often be found running, skiing, or sharing meals with friends and family. He once dreamt of charting the seas as a hydrographic surveyor but found a more settled life on land.
