Christian Schmidkowski is Executive Project Manager and Head of Advisory Services. In his role, he is responsible for establishing and leading the Advisory Services department in Germany.
He provides tailor-made consulting services for clients, ranging from project valuations during ongoing developments to detailed cost, design, and technical assessments during transactions, as well as monitoring services throughout the design and construction phases. His clients include project developers, financing institutions, and large industrial companies seeking investment opportunities and aiming to expand their business within the German and Western European real estate markets.
A typical day for Christian starts early to focus on priorities. Once his team arrives, they set goals, discuss open tasks, and address outstanding questions. Throughout the day, he attends meetings with clients and project stakeholders, reviews documentation in data rooms, and evaluates work results with his team. He uses the remaining time for management tasks and strategies to further develop Gleeds’ services. Two to three days a week, he travels to visit clients or project sites.
Christian is motivated by exceeding expectations and delivering satisfaction to clients. The services his team provides are complex and require deep technical and financial expertise. For him, the best experience is seeing a happy and satisfied client after completing a successful project. What excites him most about advisory and project management is the constant evolution. Every project is different and brings new opportunities and challenges, especially in real estate development and construction project management. This means regularly meeting new people and adapting to diverse project environments.

Every project he successfully leads and completes for clients is a proud achievement. Outside of work, Christian enjoys long rides on his racing bike, especially with a group, and spending time with his family. If he hadn’t chosen his current career path, he would probably be a pilot, race driver or mechanic.
