As Director of Project Management, Chelsea strategises business growth across Gleeds’ NYC portfolio. She is focused on continuous development and refinement of client standards at both a project-specific and holistic level, while fostering relationships with the team behind her.
Her current focus lies in overseeing the Project Management Division of a multinational software and media company in New York, so a typical day for Chelsea is never quiet. Always on the move to meetings or making it from a virtual setting to an in-person one with five minutes to spare, Chelsea is present in client-based and subsequent business-related meetings that occur daily.
Chelsea was directed to her role by her drive to ‘do’ and seeing things come to fruition. With a background in art and architecture, she says she was “ever searching for a day-to-day that balanced the beauty of these fields with the grit and grind of bringing them to physical life”. The project management realm of NYC’s corporate real estate world does just this for her!
Drawn to Gleeds by the people and the opportunity to grow, she finds kindness to be one of our values that resonates with her most. She is motivated by her wife, who works in early childhood education, saying:
Her role in her industry, and seeing the impact she has on so many children and their families, helps me to continuously remember what’s most important; those around us. This brings my mindset right back to earth.
If she wasn’t where she is now, Chelsea would have loved to teach world history, just as her late father did. With 42 years of experience teaching high school Social Studies and History, Chelsea would have aimed to follow in his footsteps and hoped to be “a fraction as impactful as he was to so many”.
Chelsea’s proudest moment at Gleeds was she says, “simply joining!”. It was a “monumental career decision to change employers” after 11 years with her previous company, and while she is thankful for the wealth of knowledge gained there, she states each day proves she made the right choice here at Gleeds.
The advice she would give someone joining Gleeds would be “to be open to all the perspectives of the great people you work with”.
When Chelsea is not busy at work, she enjoys drawing, playing Pokémon, traveling with her wife, and watching home videos from when she and her siblings were younger.
