Role

People Development Director

Nottingham, United Kingdom

Carol Davidson, People Development Director at Gleeds, has been playing a vital role in the training and development side of Gleeds since she joined in 2017.

Her role is a varied one, overseeing people development across the globe – a remit which comes with challenges - but this is where her motivation lies: supporting people across Gleeds to succeed in their own way.

There is no typical working day for Carol, with her role being a varied and fast-paced one. On any given day you’d find Carol working with the wider People Development team, engaging with the many stakeholders across the business, brainstorming new ideas for people development – the list goes on. Her role spans across the entire length of development - early careers, technical professional excellence, management and leadership development, to name a few.

Carol has worked in the people development area for many years and saw the opportunity at Gleeds to work for a large, established company that was a different sector to any she had worked in before – creating a clear opportunity to widen her knowledge even further. Carol most identifies with the Gleeds value ‘We combine professionalism with personality’ – people need to learn and develop in their own way and never be pigeonholed down a pre-defined development path.

Outside of work, Carol loves travelling, experiencing different cultures and finding destinations that are off the beaten track. If not in her current role, Carol would love nothing more than to be a TV travel presenter, exploring the globe and sharing her finds with the world.

Carol is crucial member of the team, personifying the Gleeds values and creating a network of engaged, empowered colleagues across the globe.
