Andy is the Managing Director for Gleeds’ UK business, leading a team of more than 1,300 people across the UK and Ireland.
Since joining Gleeds in 2008 as a Senior Contracts Manager, his career has progressed through a series of leadership roles, culminating in his appointment as UK Managing Director. Before taking on this position, he broadened his global perspective as Gleeds’ Head of Energy - experience that now strengthens his leadership across the wider UK business.
With a network of 19 offices, the UK business is central to Gleeds’ overall success. Andy plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the UK strategy, driving excellence in internal operations, championing regional growth, and supporting the recruitment and development of high-performing teams. He is committed to building strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring that Gleeds continues to be recognised for quality, integrity, and expertise.
What motivates him most is making a meaningful contribution to the industry and creating an environment where his leaders and their teams feel valued, challenged, and supported. The scale and complexity of the programmes delivered across the UK serve as both inspiration and opportunity - encouraging continuous improvement and collaboration.
His day-to-day work is varied and people focused. Splitting his time between offices across the UK, he works closely with the Senior Leadership Team, clients, and support functions, and prioritises staying connected with colleagues who are delivering projects on the ground. Among his proudest achievements are progressing through the business into his current leadership role and steering ongoing improvements in sector performance and profitability.
Outside of construction, he has a passion for European football and once considered a career in sports journalism.
