Role

Managing Director Deputy, Poland

Location

Cracow, Poland

As Managing Director Deputy at Gleeds Poland, Andrzej Kozak oversees all activities across the three offices in Poland.

His responsibilities include also active participation in company development, managing cross-border projects, and maintaining key client relationships. Additionally, Andrzej supervises IT and compliance matters, including QMS, ISMS and GDPR.

A typical day for Andrzej starts with a game of tennis, either before or after work. His commute to the office in Cracow is short, followed by a much-needed coffee and a brief review of ongoing issues and correspondence. After setting his priorities for the day, he tackles a mix of tasks: managing team leaders, client communication, reviewing and contributing to proposals and attending both regular and individual status meetings.

What motivates Andrzej are challenges and unique, non-typical projects. During current year alone, he has worked on exciting projects like airplane service shelters, crew training centres for Ryanair, and the construction of 380 milk cooling stations in Rwanda.

Andrzej's journey in the construction and project management sector has been one of continuous development, evolving from a structural engineer to Project Manager, and eventually to his current role as Director, which combines management, legal, accounting, sales and more. His curiosity and a desire for challenges led him to Gleeds 25 years ago, and he has never looked back. The values of fairness and respect resonate deeply with him, as well as the opportunity to work with the best people on the most inspiring projects.

My advice to newcomers at Gleeds is to be proactive, clearly communicate your goals, go the extra mile, and gradually take on the responsibilities of your line manager, as you may one day step into their role!

One of his proudest achievements at Gleeds is establishing three offices in Poland and making a significant contribution to the company's development over the past 25 years.

Outside of work, Andrzej enjoys travelling the world, listening to heavy metal music, playing tennis, alpine skiing, watching sports, gardening, and indulging in carpentry, particularly with old furniture. If he hadn't pursued his current career, Andrzej imagines he might have become a lawyer, started a travel agency, or perhaps ventured into interior design.
