Alex is the aviation lead within Gleeds’ infrastructure sector, where he oversees the development and growth of our aviation services and team across the UK.
Alex combines technical expertise with strategic leadership, business development and client management. He is passionate about delivering high quality outcomes and building long term relationships with clients across a sector that is constantly evolving.
Alex’s day typically begins early at the gym before arriving at the office by 8:00am, an hour he uses to focus and prepare. The rest of his morning is often spent in client meetings or supporting his team.
Afternoons vary depending on the day, from writing bids and preparing for key client sessions to assisting on complex project delivery. Raised in a family that instilled the values of hard work and humility, Alex brings those principles into everything he does. His leadership style is grounded in openness to learning and helping others succeed. He enjoys watching his team grow and values creating a collaborative and enjoyable working environment.
With 16 years of experience in the aviation sector and a background as a chartered quantity surveyor, Alex finds the sector both challenging and rewarding. He has worked at airports across the country including Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, East Midlands, London City and Birmingham. He believes that teamwork and adaptability are key to delivering successful airport development projects that meet the needs of a fast-paced, global industry.
Alex was drawn to the company by its supportive culture and commitment to excellence. He was particularly inspired by Gleeds’ legacy as one of the industry’s longest established cost consultancies and the calibre of its projects.
One of Alex’s proudest moments so far has been working with his colleagues in the aviation team to introduce new technologies that reduce costs and improve efficiency for clients. He looks forward to sharing this innovation with a wider network as the sector continues to grow. Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending time with his family, especially his three-year-old son. He loves to travel, with Spain being his favourite destination.
