Adam Jones leads Gleeds’ project management business in the UAE, responsible for securing new opportunities, driving excellence in project delivery, and supporting the development of the next generation of construction professionals. He also spearheads training, CPD, and staff development initiatives, reinforcing Gleeds’ commitment to growth and professional excellence across the region.
An early riser, Adam starts his day catching up on emails and planning his priorities, often fitting in an early morning run or swim to sharpen his focus. His mornings are dedicated to strategic work, from preparing bid documents to problem-solving with his team. Building and maintaining strong networks is a vital part of his role, and Adam regularly meets contacts to explore new opportunities and discuss market developments. Afternoons see him collaborating closely with his team, reviewing project progress and meeting with clients.
Passionate about growth and people development, Adam’s career has been shaped by the support of strong mentors. He now strives to give back by helping to build the next generation of construction professionals. With a background that initially lay outside of construction, Adam brings a broad perspective to his work, driven by an enduring passion for design, architecture, and creating spaces that make a difference. After delivering major projects in London early in his career, Adam made the move to the UAE more than a decade ago, seeking new challenges and a deeper global perspective. Gleeds’ unmatched culture was a major draw for him, particularly its emphasis on collaboration and authenticity.
Adam resonates most with Gleeds’ value of "excellence with humility", believing that doing the right thing, even when it’s the hard thing, defines true success. His advice for new joiners is clear: be yourself, take initiative, deliver on your commitments, and build trust with those around you. Among his proudest achievements is the strong team he has helped build in the UAE, delivering high-quality services with authenticity and pride.
Outside of work, Adam enjoys spending time with his young family, staying active through running, swimming, and tennis, and passionately supporting Newcastle United on match days. If he hadn’t entered the construction industry, he imagines a career in graphic design or alternatively, following the path he once studied for in law.
