As an Owner and Non-executive Director on the Group Board, as well as Chair of the Remuneration Committee, Stuart’s role is pivotal in guiding Gleeds’ trajectory.

With over four decades in the business, his career is a testament to enduring commitment and exceptional strategic foresight. His tenure has been marked by significant contributions, including the development and execution of the organisation's vision and strategy, overseeing P & L as well as people, HR and training, and spearheading change management initiatives such as restructuring and the successful mergers and acquisitions of companies overseas. Under his guidance, Gleeds has achieved annual double-digit growth and has been recognised as one of the top three independent construction consultancy firms in the UK.

Both at Gleeds, and in the wider industry, Stuart leads with innovation, co-chairing the Digital Construction Exports Group and most recently accepting the invitation to be the Co-Chair of the UK Government’s Infrastructure Exports: UK (IE:UK) Board.

My roles on the Digital Construction Exports Group and Infrastructure Exports Board allow me to position the UK as a frontrunner in international digital and infrastructure projects, in partnership with the Department for Business and Trade.

A day in his life is a blend of travel, meetings, and strategic collaborations, extending from the UK to the global stage, often involving high-level liaison with the UK Government. Motivated by the pursuit of excellence for Gleeds, the opportunity to impact the global real estate and infrastructure sectors, and the joy of making a difference on projects worldwide, Stuart's leadership ethos is deeply rooted in commitment to clients and employees alike.

His journey with Gleeds, commencing in 1976, is his proudest achievement, intertwined with personal passions for Formula One, Nottingham Forest, and philanthropic cycling challenges. Stuart embodies the essence of leadership that not only envisages growth but also instils a legacy of excellence and commitment within Gleeds and the construction consultancy sector at large.
