Jon Enever is the Chief Client Officer at Gleeds and sits on both the Group and Operations Board. His role centres on a critical question: are we fulfilling our commitments to our clients?

His daily agenda is meticulously designed to ensure the answer is always yes. This involves extensive client meetings, proposal reviews, and alignment with client strategies, all aimed at understanding and pre-emptively addressing their business needs.

Jon joined Gleeds immediately after college, starting as a trainee Quantity Surveyor (QS). Despite initial uncertainty about his choice of career path, his curiosity about the industry's global reach and impact motivated him to not only learn but excel. His dedication saw him take on various roles within the organisation, eventually guiding him to his current leadership position.

What drives him is people—both colleagues and clients—who inspire and challenge him to inject positive changes into their lives. He holds a firm belief in the power of professional relationships built on trust and mutual respect, often extending his workday into evenings spent at industry dinners and events, which he uses as platforms for relationship and trust building.

My advice to anyone joining Gleeds, or in the wider industry, would be to seize opportunities to work abroad. I worked in Paris in my early 20’s and it gave me opportunities I wouldn’t have had otherwise. I’m proud to work for Gleeds, and now mentor many individuals in shaping their own career.

Outside the office, Jon enjoys sports, social events, and family time—interests that mirror the enthusiasm and energy he brings to his role. Had he not ventured into the construction consultancy sector, Jon imagines he might have been a sports journalist, driven by the same passion for storytelling and impact.
