As Chief Growth Officer, Dean Purvis plays a pivotal role in shaping Gleeds’ future growth, bringing together strategy, execution and leadership across our critical growth. With responsibility spanning Infrastructure, Energy, Data Centres and emerging markets, Dean unites marketing, sales, product and customer experience, aligning strategy with execution to turn ambition into sustainable, long-term growth.
Dean works closely with regional sector leads and operational teams to identify new opportunities, deepen client relationships and secure major programmes across transportation, utilities, net zero and complex social infrastructure. His approach balances commercial rigour with a clear focus on delivery excellence, ensuring Gleeds continues to respond to evolving market demands while creating lasting value for clients.
At the heart of Dean’s leadership is a strong focus on people. This spans the teams he leads and mentors, the clients he partners with, and the communities impacted by the critical infrastructure programmes Gleeds delivers. His human‑centric approach underpins his commitment to exceptional client experience and lasting value, ensuring growth is both responsible and meaningful.
After a short break, Dean returned to Gleeds in 2020, where he developed a clear growth strategy and built a team to extend Gleeds’ core services across global markets. His approach reflects Gleeds’ value of ‘Professionalism with personality’, combining leading‑edge capability with personal engagement and long‑term relationships.
Dean’s career has been rooted in the global Energy and Infrastructure sectors, drawn by the transformative impact of large‑scale programmes on communities and economies. He is motivated by the complexity of major projects and the breadth of stakeholders involved, from governments and programme sponsors to delivery partners, all working towards positive, lasting outcomes.
I’m most proud of the impact of our work in Northern Peru following the 2017 El Niño event, which demonstrates the tangible difference that well‑delivered infrastructure can make to people’s lives.
Outside of work, Dean values time with his family, enjoys travelling, and is a keen cricket and Formula 1 enthusiast. Had his career taken a different path, he imagines he might have become a paramedic – reflecting his enduring desire to make a meaningful impact wherever he can.
