As Chief Executive Officer, David sits on both Gleeds Group and Management Board and has overall responsibility for the leadership, performance and strategic direction of the business globally. His role focuses on driving sustainable growth, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring the business continues to deliver exceptional outcomes across all regions.

His day-to-day responsibilities are as diverse as the regions he leads. A typical day is a blend of collaboration and communication, often through a combination of face-to-face and virtual meetings, reflecting the truly interconnected nature of Gleeds as a global consultancy.

David’s motivation stems from a deep-rooted desire to see Gleeds flourish. His vision is comprehensive, encompassing financial performance, the continual improvement of service delivery, winning new commissions, and supporting colleagues to develop and thrive. This ambitious outlook is not just about numbers; it is about positioning Gleeds as a benchmark within the wider industry.

He joined Gleeds in London as a year out student in 1983 and, after completing his degree, immediately re joined the business as a quantity surveyor. Over the last 40 years, David has built a rewarding and successful career, with a strong focus on leveraging Gleeds’ global network to support both his own development and the professional growth and personal enrichment of colleagues around the world.

Collaboration is the key to a successful global business. I’m proud of the unique culture we’ve built and feel fortunate to be supported by such a great team. That culture aligns strongly with my own values of professionalism, creativity and innovation. Together, we’ve navigated thorough good times and bad times, with resilience and team unity shining through.

Outside of work, David’s life is equally vibrant. He plays bass in a cover band and is a dedicated Atlético Madrid supporter. He maintains an active lifestyle through regular gym visits and walking his two greyhounds. Weekends are typically spent enjoying family time and indulging his passions for music and football.
