Today we are pleased to announce the appointment of Salar Farzad as Chief Finance and Operating Officer – part of a global restructure designed to streamline decision making and accelerate the business’ growth.

Salar has held the position of interim CFO with Gleeds since March, as well as Chief Financial Officer with a number of large-scale international firms and his new role will see him spearhead a realignment of core functions, bringing multiple entities under one umbrella. In doing so, the business will be reshaping and consolidating a legacy structure which has existed for over 30 years.

Graham Harle, CEO at Gleeds comments, “I am determined that Gleeds are able to move forward with a structure that allows us to harness our independence and to better serve our clients in an ever-changing market – ensuring agility, resilience and responsiveness. Our new CFOO, Salar Farzad brings with him a wealth of experience – not only in the financial sphere – and alongside myself and the Executive Management Board, will be instrumental in delivering the new organisational framework.”

As a part of the restructure, Douglas McCormick – currently Group Executive Director – and Steven Mason – currently Regional Managing Director, London - will leave the business to pursue new opportunities. Further afield, Gleeds’ US operation has recently named Stuart Lumsden as Gleeds’ Americas lead, supported by Will Burton, who leads Energy in the Americas. This comes as the former CEO of Gleeds Americas, Chris Williams, leaves the business.

We want to wish Douglas, Chris and Steve well in their future endeavours. The changes announced today are all about reshaping and future-proofing the business, giving us resilience and a clearer, more defined structure moving forward. Clients welcome our independence as well as our varied service offering and I am keen that we move forward with a new, more streamlined structure to respond to their needs in the most effective way possible.
