Green Street

Launching Green Street - an award-winning neighbourhood.

We helped Blueprint realise its vision for 38 low energy homes in Green Street, Nottingham.

Gleeds cost management, CDM co-ordinator, employer’s agent and quality monitoring services optimised green features with funding from the Homes and Community Agency (HCA).

Managing cash flow

To ensure best use of grant monies, our team put a detailed cash flow reporting and expenditure programme in place.

To meet deadlines, our bi-monthly meetings monitored progress against budgets, helping track progress of the 3 and 4-bedroom houses, 13 of which were allocated for low cost home ownership.

Flexible delivery

Gleeds also helped Blueprint take advantage of market conditions by slowing down the build rate and delivering the project at a later date. As a result, Gleeds managed to have all the homes reserved before work began on a particular unit.

Green by name, green by nature

Designed by local award winning architect Marsh Grochawski, Green Street meets the strict level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and 'B' grade Energy Performance Certificate. Design features include:

  • Photovoltaic panels on the roof
  • 100% low energy lighting
  • Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery for the whole house
  • Sustainable urban drainage systems for domestic and highway drainage
  • Air tightness standards of 3.00m³/(h.m²) @ 50Pa and U values of 0.13
  • Segregated waste storage and cycle storage facilities

90%

efficient homes due to mechanical heat recovery systems supplying fresh air but retaining warmth.
